We are conveniently located in Portland and have operations in Rockport, Aransas Pass, Portland, and Corpus Christi.

CHOOSING A BUILDER CHECKLIST:

Building your dream home is one of the most exciting times of your life.  Make certain that you have chosen the best builder for the job.  Texas Residential Construction Commission (TRCC) HUD, and NAR recommend the following guidelines:

STATE LICENSED & INSURED BUILDER – TRCC requires all builders and remodelers to be licensed and maintains a database available to the public at www.trcc.state.tx.us.  We encourage you to view our license number 19190 because we have a demonstrated track record of no complaints, arbitration, or other administrative penalties.  Building without a license or operating under a borrowed license is violation of state law.

EXPERIENCE –Owners Nick and Mona Lutz offer 25 years of experience.  Ongoing professional training for new building materials and techniques has been obtained through active participation in the National Home Builders Association, Corpus Christi Home Builders Association, and Rebuilding the Gulf States programs. Costly mistakes and slow construction are avoided based on efficient project management skills and clear client communication.

CLIENT REFERENCES – The best source of information about a builder is from their existing clients and reputation.  From our first to most recent closing, clients have given great recommendations about the service, quality, and overall experience of building with our team.  Not only are letters available, but our existing home owners are delighted to show off their homes to prospective clients.

CONSTRUCTION QUALITY REFERENCES – To ensure that your builder has adequate construction skills to complete your home, technical references should be verified.  Local engineering firms and city inspectors are always a good source.  Coastal Bend Home Builders has received referrals from the top engineering firms, Portland City Inspectors, and owners of local suppliers such as Wendland Air Conditioning.

FINANCIAL STABILITY – Verify your builder’s financial references to ensure the ability to complete the home without being pressured to take short cuts or use inferior materials or tradesmen.  First Community Bank, Charter Bank, and numerous subcontractors and suppliers can vouch for long term relationships with Coastal Bend Home Builders.

Who We Are

Nick Lutz is originally from Calvert, Texas, attended A&M, and has been a home builder for 20+ years.  Very much a family man, has a blast with his grandchildren, loves to fish and hunt.

Mona Lutz is also a native Texan and graduated from The University of  Texas at Austin.  When she isn't helping clients, she is also a volunteer in her (now) hometown of Rockport, or enjoying the beauty of South Texas with family and friends.
